The nitty gritty

Here are answers to some questions you may have about the changeover.

What’s changing?

We’re now providing you Experian’s personal summary credit reports in place of TransUnion’s. Both bureaus use the VantageScore® 3.0 scoring model, so that won’t change. You will notice Experian’s logo instead of TransUnion’s when logging into your Nav account.

Is any action needed by you?

No, these changes automatically go into effect. You can just sit back, relax and enjoy your new Experian report. (Wait, we’re talking about credit reports, right?)

Are the scores different?

Both Experian and TransUnion use the same scoring model: VantageScore® 3.0. But, it is possible for the scores to vary.

That’s because the three major credit bureaus (Experian, TransUnion and Equifax) collect data from many sources. Each bureau could have different data in its reports. So, even when using the same exact scoring model, scores can vary.

For more information, we’ve created an article that explains why credit scores can be different.
