Do you ever need to make a purchase that exceeds your credit card’s limit? Many small businesses struggle to fit their purchasing requirements within the available credit on their credit cards. But thankfully, there are some small business credit cards that come with no preset spending limits.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that you can charge anything you want, regardless of the size of the purchase. Instead, it means that your credit card does not have a hard ceiling, above which no charges will be approved. With one of these cards, charges are approved on a case by case basis, depending on your account history and most recent credit score. In fact, these small business credit cards allow you to have charges above your credit line pre-approved, so you can avoid surprises.

Here are three small business credit cards that have no limit:

1. The Business Gold Rewards Card® from American Express OPEN

This is a charge card not a credit card, so you are expected to pay each month’s statement balance in full. However, it has no preset spending limit so that your purchasing power can continuously grow with your business. Also, this card offers valuable rewards for your spending. You earn 3x points on the category of your choice from the following list:

  • Airfare purchased directly from airlines.
  • U.S. purchases for advertising in select media.
  • U.S. purchases at gas stations.
  • U.S. purchases for shipping.
  • U.S. computer hardware, software, and cloud computing purchases made directly from select providers.

You also earn 2x points on the four remaining categories, and one point per dollar spent elsewhere. New cardmembers can also earn 50,000 bonus points after using their card to spend $5,000 within three months of account opening. Points are earned in the Membership Rewards programs and can be redeemed for gift cards, merchandise or travel reservations. Or, you can transfer your points to miles with 16 different frequent flyer programs.

Other benefits include extended warranty coverage, purchase protection and return protection. This card also includes premium roadside protection, which can come to your assistance up to four times a year if your car has a flat, needs a jumpstart, or has to be towed up to 10 miles. There’s a $175 annual fee for this card that’s waived the first year, and no foreign transaction fees.

2. The Plum card from American Express

This unique card has no preset spending limit, while giving business owners the choice of earning rewards or extending payment to 60 days. When you pay off your balance in full within 15 days of your statement closing, then you’ll earn 1.5% cash back on your purchases. Alternatively, you can take as long as 60 days to pay without incurring interest charges, which can do wonders for your cash flow.

New accounts can earn up to $600 in cash back. You can earn a $200 statement credit each time you spend $10,000 on your card, up to three times within your first three months of card membership. There’s a $250 annual fee for this card that’s waived the first year, and no foreign transaction fees.

3. The Business Green Rewards card from American Express

The small business version of the iconic Green card is a great entry level rewards card that has no preset spending limit. This card offers you 2x points for reservations booked through the American Express Travel website, and one point per dollar spent elsewhere. New accounts also earn 5,000 bonus points when you make your first purchase with the card.

This card offers the same Membership Rewards points feature on American Express’s premium cards, and you still have your choice of gift cards, merchandise, travel reservations or point transfers. Benefits include a baggage insurance plan, extended warranty coverage an a purchase protection policy. There’s a $95 annual fee for this card that’s waived the first year, and a 2.7% foreign transaction fee.
